Claude Bigras

Chief Executive Officer

Since 1982, Mr. Bigras has spent his career in the construction, cleaning and facility maintenance industry. He joined GDI in 1994 and later became a major shareholder in 1998. Over the years, he has held many positions and became President and CEO of GDI in December 2004. In his role as President and CEO, Mr. Bigras has overseen GDI’s significant organic and acquisition-based growth, leading GDI to become the largest facility services company in Canada and one of the largest in North America.

Through his leadership, perspective and experience, Mr. Bigras has driven the development of GDI’s key financial strategic planning and brings with him an exceptional track record of disciplined capital allocation and strategic acquisitions. Mr. Bigras holds certificates in Finance and Management from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Montréal.

Charles-Etienne Girouard

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Girouard first joined GDI in 2018, as Director of Financial Information and Budget. In early 2023, he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Digital Transformation, Finance and Operations, where he was responsible for initiatives that were critical to GDI’s growth, including process optimization and digital transformation. In June 2024, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations and Digital Transformation.
Since May 2025, he is our Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and is responsible for the management of the financial department for GDI and driving the Company’s strategic financial decisions. Before his tenure at GDI, Mr. Girouard honed his skills at PSP Investments, where he oversaw financial operations across multiple asset classes and contributed to key back-office investment processes.
His earlier career at PricewaterhouseCoopers saw him specializing in assurance services, where he gained valuable experience across various industries. Mr. Girouard holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Université de Sherbrooke and is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA).

Christian Marcoux

Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary
Mr. Marcoux is Senior Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary and joined GDI in November 2021. Prior to joining GDI, from January 2019 to January 2021, he served as Senior Vice-President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of IPL Plastics Inc., a company with international operations listed on the TSX. From December 2016 to January 2019, he was Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Secretary at Laurentian Bank of Canada, where he managed the Legal Department.
From 2006 to 2016, he worked at Quebecor Inc., where he occupied various positions including Senior Director, M&A and Financing and Corporate Secretariat, where he led several M&A transactions to complete the transition of the company from a printing company to a telecommunications company. Mr. Marcoux is a graduate from Université Laval and a member of the Quebec Bar since 2000.

David Hinchey

Executive Vice President, Corporate Development
Mr. Hinchey joined GDI in 2014 as its Senior Vice President, Strategic Development after a 14-year career in the investment banking industry, and currently serves as GDI’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Development. Prior to joining the Company, he served as Managing Partner of Milton Capital Partners Ltd., an advisory firm providing mergers and acquisitions and capital markets advisory services to public and private companies, where he specialized in the facility services industry for several years and provided merger and acquisition advisory services to the Company since 2011.
From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Hinchey served as Managing Director, Investment Banking of Laurentian Bank Securities Inc. At the Company, he is responsible for the Company’s mergers and acquisitions activities and strategic business initiatives. Mr. Hinchey holds an MBA from McGill University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Craig Stanford

President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Stanford started his career in 1981 as a Field Technician with Honeywell. He held various management positions with several companies involved in the maintenance and repair of building systems. Mr. Stanford had a 15-year career with Honeywell in field operations, sales, and management and was Regional Director of Honeywell from 1990 to 1995.
He held various senior management positions with Stannair, Enbridge and Direct Energy from 1995 to 2006. He also held the position of President of Modern Niagara HVAC Services from 2009 to 2013, and spent the following three years as President of Airtron. When Mr. Stanford joined Ainsworth Inc., a GDI company, following the acquisition of Airtron in November 2016, he became President of Ainsworth, and was also named Chief Operating Officer in 2019.

Bob Mcguire

President and Chief Operating Officer, Business Services

Mr. McGuire is President and Chief Operating Officer, Business Services Group since May 2025. From 2022 until June 2024, he was a valuable member of the GDI Board of Directors. Over the past 25+ years, Mr. McGuire has held senior-level leadership positions in the financial services sector, including notable roles at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. More recently, he ran Longwing Partners LLC, a private consulting firm specializing in strategic advisory services.

Fred Edwards

Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Edwards became part of the GDI team in 2013 as President of Western Canada, during which time (from 2013 to 2018), GDI rose to become the leading cleaning services provider in the Western Canada region. In 2019, he expanded his previous role to include Chief Marketing Officer for the entire GDI group of companies. In 2023, Mr. Edwards was appointed President, Business Services, Western Canada and took on the added responsibilities of managing GDI’s cleaning operations in Western Canada. With over 40 years of experience in the cleaning services industry, Mr. Edwards brings a wealth of expertise to his roles.
Before joining GDI, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Servpro Cleaning (Calgary) Inc. and Servpro Canada, growing it to be one of Alberta’s largest cleaning services providers. Mr. Edwards has contributed significantly to his industry and community by serving as a Board member for BOMA Calgary and currently for the BOMA Calgary Foundation. He remains an active member of the Calgary community and is personally committed to supporting multiple charitable organizations throughout the city.

Craig Newell

Interim CIO
Mr. Newell has been part of the IT leadership team at GDI Ainsworth since April 2023, as VP of Enterprise Information Security. Using his 30 years of experience across multiple industries including banking, retail, utilities, and public sector, he helped shape and lead GDI Ainsworth’s cyber risk reduction efforts. Both he and the GDI Ainsworth Information Security team won awards in 2025; Top 50 InfoSec Professional for Mr. Newell and Top 100 InfoSec Team.
In late 2025, Mr. Newell assumed the additional role of Interim Chief Information Officer and is currently leading the organization through a major IT outsourcing initiative. Mr. Newell remains an active member of the Toronto Information Security community and serves the public as a part-time Paramedic, as well as part of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, rescuing boaters on Lake Ontario. Mr. Newell studied Print Journalism at Algonquin College and Business Administration at Trent University.

Fred Acheampong

Senior Vice President, Shared Services
Prior to joining Ainsworth, Mr. Acheampong was the General Manager – Material Solutions for Bombardier Transportation, with oversight of procurement, sales operations, health and safety, and support systems across North America. Before that, he spent four years with Wajax Industrial Components as Vice President of Operations and Business Systems. Mr. Acheampong also held various leadership roles at Price Waterhouse Canada, Carrier Corporation Canada, Direct Energy Business Services and Toyota Material Handling North America.
In addition to Accounting, Six Sigma and Lean Principles certification, he also holds Master’s and Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration. Fred works closely with the GDI IT organization and leads cross-functional teams within Ainsworth to ensure the successful implementation of business transformation projects. Additionally, he has responsibility for central sourcing and procurement, fleet management and real estate for Ainsworth Canada & USA. He also supports acquisition due diligence and leads the onboarding for Ainsworth acquisitions.
Senior Vice President, Service & Maintenance

Randy Carr

Senior Vice President, Service & Maintenance
Mr. Carr started his career as a HVAC/R apprentice, before joining Stannair Conditioning in 1997. His early days as a HVAC Journeyman set the foundation for what is now a 25+ year career in operations & general management. Strategic planning, business development, operational excellence and team culture are all skills he excels in.
Mr. Carr’s roles have included Service Management with Stannair Conditioning, Ontario Regional HVAC Manager with Direct Energy and Director of HVAC Operations with Airtron Canada. Before accepting his current role Mr Carr created one of the highest performing business units within Ainsworth as VP Central/Northern & Western Ontario.
In his current role, Randy will work with all Business Leaders to maximize our maintenance and service performance in our Mechanical and BAS business. While having the ability to share best practices, implement consistent operating procedures and maximize profitability.

Kevin Crosgrey

Senior Vice President, Western Canada & US West
Mr. Crosgrey began his career in the technical services industry as a facility operator for the City of Brampton in 1989, and after being promoted to Operations Manager in 1999, he started working as an Energy Management & BAS Coordinator at Brampton City Hall. It was not long after that Mr. Crosgrey joined Optimira Controls as Project/Operations Manager in 2002. When Optimira Controls was acquired by ESC Automation in 2011, ESC needed a dedicated leader to grow its Toronto branch. It was the strong core values and family-oriented culture which led Mr. Crosgrey to join ESC as Branch Manager Toronto, and then to become the General Manager for Canada and the U.S. in 2019.
When Ainsworth acquired ESC Automation, Mr. Crosgrey stepped up to be Ainsworth Vice President GTA and General Manager Delta Connects U.S. In September 2021, he moved to British Columbia to lead the team as SVP BC for Ainsworth. Since 2011, Mr. Crosgrey has helped ESC Automation grow considerably and become a well-respected industry partner. With over 25 years of experience in leadership management, project services, and execution, Mr. Crosgrey provides a collaborative approach with his team to effectively deliver and manage the growth strategy in the British Columbia market. Mr. Crosgrey holds an Accounting Diploma from Sheridan College and the BOMA Facilities Management Administrator Certification.

Steve Heiderstadt

Senior Vice President, New York

Steve Heiderstadt has over 40 years of experience in the HVAC service and mechanical contracting industry, beginning his career as a field service technician and progressing through estimating, project management, department leadership, construction management, and senior executive roles. He spent more than three decades with BP Air Conditioning and its affiliated companies, playing a pivotal role in scaling the organization into one of the premier mechanical contractors in the tri-state area, which was acquired by Ainsworth in 2021. For the past decade, Steve led the New York City office, overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary operations and high-profile projects.

Today, Steve serves as Senior Vice President of Ainsworth Mechanical–New York, providing strategic leadership across HVAC operations, financial oversight, contract compliance, and team development. He works closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment with organizational values and goals while fostering strong client relationships. Steve is a professional member of ASHRAE and several industry associations, and a graduate of Babson College’s Advanced Leadership Institute.

Michelle Kirkland

Senior Vice President Human Resources
Ms. Kirkland began her career in Human Resources in 2002 with Tyco Thermal Controls, where she quickly transitioned into a national HR Manager role, supporting various national and global initiatives involving performance and talent management, talent acquisition and compensation planning, as well as leading labour relations for the Canadian manufacturing division.
In 2014, she transitioned to a Labour Relations role within the automotive industry and later moved to become Director of Human Resources for the Swish Group of Companies. In 2017, Ms. Kirkland joined Ainsworth as the Vice President of Human Resources.

John Matthews

Regional Vice President, Quebec
Mr. Matthews began his career in the Fire Protection industry in 1996 as a technical sales agent with Siemens and was mainly focused on heavy industrial and major infrastructure verticals. That led Mr. Matthews to start an 18-year career with Tyco SimplexGrinnell beginning as a Fire Alarm Systems Technician, holding positions of Project Manager, Operations Manager, Solution Sales Manager, and then becoming a Strategic Executive in charge of industrial business development and P3 program management.
Mr. Matthews had known ESC throughout much of his career at Tyco as a strategic partner in team pursuits and execution of some of the largest projects in Canada, competing with companies such as JCI and Honeywell. When JCI acquired Tyco in 2017, ESC was looking to broaden its capabilities as a Master Systems Integrator, and Mr. Matthews felt the humble, client-focused culture of ESC was a better fit for him. He joined ESC as Director-Building Systems, and in 2020 he became Vice President- Master Systems Integration. Mr. Matthews’ broad background in systems, and a wide range of positions, have allowed him to tackle Smart Buildings that have similarly broadened.
This experience allowed Mr. Matthews to step back and look at whole building technologies to help achieve owners’ goals and navigate the change management process. Mr. Matthews has contributed significantly to establishing ESC as a leading Master Systems Integrator, leading the company to be selected for notable Smart Building projects across the country as well as making advances in the health care vertical, including Real Time Locating and Healthcare Communications Systems.

Michael McHenry

Vice President, Mid-Atlantic
Mike McHenry, M.B.A., has been in the mechanical industry for the past 15 years, and started at Enginuity as a Construction Project Assistant before helping to scale the Service Shop there from six technicians to eighty over the course of a decade, spanning two states. Today, he runs the Mid-Atlantic region of Ainsworth, providing Mechanical Services to Central Pennsylvania and Maryland. He serves on the board of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America, the Local 520 Apprenticeship Board, and several local non-profit boards.
Prior to the mechanical industry, Mike ran a software company and served in marketing and sales roles, but fell in love with Mechanical Contracting’s lasting and tangible impact on our communities. Outside of Ainsworth, Mike enjoys spending time with his (large) family, playing guitar, and writing letters.

Paulo Mota

Vice President, Finance
Mr. Mota holds an MBA in finance and the Certified Financial Analyst designation. He started his career in the energy and services industry in 2007 as an analyst with Direct Energy. In 2011, he moved to the role of Head of Financial Planning and Analysis for North America for the Direct Energy line of business, and then to Director of Finance and Accounting for Airtron from 2013 to 2016. Mr. Mota joined Ainsworth in 2017, following the acquisition of Airtron.

Marco Ottavino

Senior Vice President, Ontario
Mr. Ottavino started his career in 2007 as a mechanical engineer in the biopharmaceutical industry, working in the engineering and maintenance department at Sanofi Pasteur in Toronto, Ontario. He was responsible for managing maintenance program deployment and administrative facilities. There, Mr.Ottavino was exposed to leading projects and technical teams within a mission critical, highly regulated environment.
Following his roles at Sanofi Pasteur, Mr. Ottavino accepted a position in external sales with Honeywell Building Solutions in 2011, based in the Greater Toronto Area. Mr. Ottavino joined the leadership team at Honeywell in 2016 where he served as the Director of Sales for Honeywell’s Ontario region, overseeing 18 sales professionals, estimators and engineers. In 2018, Mr. Ottavino expanded his management career after accepting a position with Carrier Corporation as their Canadian General Manager. Mr. Ottavino joined Ainsworth in 2022 after accepting the position of Senior Vice President Ontario. He holds a Bachelors of Engineering, Masters of Business Administrations, P.Eng, and was ASHRAE President in 2013.

Randy Topp

Senior Vice President, Energy Services & National Operations Support
Mr. Topp is a professional engineer and a PMP holder and started his career as a mechanical engineer and estimator in 1984 with Black & McDonald. From 1990 to 2012, he was involved in building and energy solutions as an Engineer, Project Manager and Operations Leader with Rose Technology Group, Direct Energy Business Services and Johnson Controls.
Mr. Topp progressed through various management levels over that span from Operations Manager to Vice President. He was branch General Manager with Automated Logic before joining Ainsworth in 2014, and later became Vice President of National Operations Support following the merger with Airtron. His present role is focused on energy services, specialty projects, project management, and various business initiative-related national operations.

Anouk Trudel 

Regional Vice President, Quebec
Mrs. Trudel joined Ainsworth in 2026 as Regional Vice President, Quebec, bringing extensive executive leadership experience across facilities management, energy services, and large-scale operational transformation. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Canada, where she successfully led the Veolia–Suez merger and drove significant performance improvements across technical operations, energy management, and asset optimization.
Throughout her career, she has held senior strategic roles with Veolia, McKesson Canada, Desjardins, and Accenture, leading complex initiatives focused on innovation, operational excellence, and technical asset management. Recognized for her ability to align strategy with execution, Mrs. Trudel brings a results-driven approach to strengthening regional performance, advancing sustainable facility solutions, and delivering long-term value to clients across Quebec.

Michael Varvel

Senior Vice President
Michael Varvel serves as Senior Vice President, Integrated Facilities Services & Maintenance at Ainsworth, where he leads operations across Canada and the United States from his base in Columbus, Ohio. With extensive North American leadership experience in integrated facilities management, Mike specializes in building high-performing teams that deliver measurable operational outcomes, drive systems development and implementation, and advance productivity through operational excellence and Lean methodologies. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles with organizations including Aramark, Sodexo, Procter & Gamble, and General Motors, maintaining full P&L responsibility for complex, large-scale facilities management portfolios across aerospace and defense, corporate services, energy, and industrial sectors.
With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and manufacturing management, Mike combines technical expertise with strategic vision to optimize facility performance, strengthen client partnerships, and support long-term portfolio growth.
Daniel Mongrain

Joseph Caranci

Senior Vice-President, Central Canada
Joseph Caranci joined GDI in 2023, bringing more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in service-based organizations supporting commercial, industrial, and institutional clients across Canada.
His career includes senior sales and operations leadership roles in electrical and mechanical distribution, fire protection, building automation, and security systems. Joseph spent 10 years in progressive leadership positions with Siemens Canada, where he strengthened operational performance, enhanced service delivery, and drove customer-focused growth.
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Ontario, Joseph is responsible for service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational performance across the region. He provides strategic leadership focused on operational excellence, process standardization, continuous improvement, and scalable business practices that support long-term client partnerships and sustainable growth.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Engineering Physics and has completed training in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Daniel Mongrain

Sheridan Curnew

Regional Vice President, Atlantic
Mr. Curnew joined GDI in 2016 as General Manager for Atlantic Canada and was appointed Regional Vice President, Atlantic, in 2019. With more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience across operations, business development and management, he brings a deep understanding of both strategic and frontline operational drivers to his role. At the Company, he oversees regional operations, client engagement, and strategic initiatives, with a mandate to ensure sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a strong service culture.
Prior to joining GDI, Mr. Curnew spent over a decade with Brink’s Canada, where he led operations across the region while overseeing logistics, finance, and security.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Curnew held sales leadership roles with Pitney Bowes, consistently earning national recognition for top performance and driving regional sales strategy and execution.
Mr. Curnew holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from Saint Mary’s University and completed management studies at McMaster University.
Daniel Mongrain

Peter Criville

Regional President, North East USA
Peter has dedicated his career to the facility services industry, amassing more than 35 years of specialized experience. Before joining GDI Services in 2014, he held notable leadership roles, including President at Shellville Facility Services and Matrix Integrated Facility Management.
He currently serves as President, Northeast U.S. Region at GDI, where he directs management infrastructure for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, overseeing operations across over 50 million square feet and managing a workforce exceeding 4,900 employees. Peter works closely with department leaders to optimize service delivery and consistently surpass client expectations.
As a member of the Building Operators Labor Relations (BOLR) Board of Directors, Peter has significantly contributed to union contract negotiations and economic forums. In May 2007, the Philadelphia Business Journal named him among the Top 40 Business Leaders under 40 in the Philadelphia region. He continues to support various charitable organizations, maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement.
Daniel Mongrain

Hayley Lilico

Senior Vice President, Western Canada
Hayley Lillico joined GDI in 2013, bringing nearly a decade of experience in the commercial janitorial and facility services industry. Her strong operational leadership and client-focused approach quickly distinguished her within the organization, leading to her promotion to General Manager of the Edmonton and Northern Alberta region in 2015. Under her direction, the branch achieved substantial revenue growth, improved profitability, and strengthened service delivery performance—contributing significantly to GDI’s expansion and market presence in Western Canada.
In 2022, Hayley was appointed Senior Vice President, Western Canada, and relocated to Calgary to lead operations across the region. With more than 20 years of industry expertise, she is recognized for driving operational excellence, scalable growth strategies, and high-performing teams. Hayley remains focused on continuous improvement, client retention, and delivering integrated facility services solutions that create long-term value for customers and stakeholders alike.
Daniel Mongrain

Daniel Mongrain

Executive Vice President, Eastern Canada
Mr. Mongrain is Vice‑Président Exécutif for Eastern Canada, and his responsibilities include leading GDI’s operations and growth initiatives across the Eastern Canadian markets. He is responsible for driving operational excellence, performance improvement, and strategic transformation across the region’s integrated facility services platform.
Prior to joining GDI, Mr. Mongrain held senior leadership roles at McKinsey & Company, where he led large‑scale growth and transformation programs for Fortune 500 clients in industrial manufacturing and business services. He advised executive leadership teams on commercial strategy, digital and operational transformation, advanced analytics, and enterprise‑wide performance improvement. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mongrain held global leadership positions at CAE Inc., where he led international operational excellence and continuous‑improvement initiatives across CAE manufacturing and training centers worldwide.
Mr. Mongrain holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from École des sciences de la gestion (ESG UQAM) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Production Engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS). He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and is fluently bilingual in English and French.

Cathy Novy

Senior Vice President People & Culture
Cathy Novy, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 25 years of experience in human resources, quality control, and corporate leadership in the manufacturing and services sectors. She joined GDI following an acquisition in 2012. Since then, and throughout her career, her role has progressively expanded and she is now Senior Vice President, People and Culture, Business Services Group, United States and Canada.

Avi Steinberg

President, Eastern Canada
Mr. Steinberg is President for the Business Services (Eastern Canada) segment, and his responsibilities include managing GDI’s cleaning operations in the Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic markets. He is also responsible for the management and expansion of the Company’s Franchise Group, which includes Modern Cleaning Concept L.P. Prior to joining GDI, Mr. Steinberg developed long-term growth strategies and led large M&A initiatives for Iron Mountain.
He also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co., helping retailers improve their profitability through banner optimization, and working with financial institutions to negotiate information technology purchases and facilitating implementation. Mr. Steinberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Mr. Curnew joined GDI in 2016 as General Manager for Atlantic Canada and was appointed Regional Vice President, Atlantic, in 2019. With more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience across operations, business development and management, he brings a deep understanding of both strategic and frontline operational drivers to his role. At the Company, he oversees regional operations, client engagement, and strategic initiatives, with a mandate to ensure sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a strong service culture.
Prior to joining GDI, Mr. Curnew spent over a decade with Brink’s Canada, where he led operations across the region while overseeing logistics, finance, and security.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Curnew held sales leadership roles with Pitney Bowes, consistently earning national recognition for top performance and driving regional sales strategy and execution.
Mr. Curnew holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from Saint Mary’s University and completed management studies at McMaster University.
